IIRC, the current EVs run run their batteries at about 85% depth of discharge to meet their lifetime targets.

Unless the linked article is talking about lithium iron phosphate technology. That is more durable than standard LiIon technology.

But that isn't in wide use, despite its initial promise.



The Tesla Powerwall is indeed based on LiFePO4, at least according to all the material Tesla have produced.
