I tried beeper for a while, but between the bugs, the dubious flow decisions and the unproductive UI, I gave it up.

I really wanted to like it but they have a long way to go.

However, the product concept is good, and all my interactions with the team were excellent, so I think it will be worth checking them out in a year or two to see if they have fixed all those things.

If it does signal on an Android tablet without SIM, echoed to my other devices, it's double plus good. Somehow signal got ipads for free alongside iphones, but not android tablets alongside Android phones, although they got adjunct client working on osx. Go figure.
