What emails are you sending that cause this?

Edwin from Stripe here. We’re trying this out on Stripe hosted invoices at the moment.

We’ve always had something similar in the footer, but wanted to see if customers receiving the invoices could use a bit more context on what Stripe hosted invoices are.

This not context. "Generated By Stripe Hosted Invoices" would be context and it should be opt-in by the merchant.

This is plain advertising.

Why not a “learn more” link, or something similar? This is just an advertisement

My thoughts exactly. This sort of thing really makes me think twice about using the service.
