But the keyboard controls make it unplayable. They have a habit of sticking in the game, so I walk straight off the ledge or into a robot swarm. Does anyone else get this?

Sometimes. I think it's a Flash thing and it depends on the speed of your computer. Perhaps key up events aren't being fired correctly.
