It's much harder to unlearn something than to learn something, you have to show them what they think is "natural" isn't, it's just what they were taught and it's based on laziness not intelligence and implicit hidden rules are bad and lead to ambiguity. Operator precedence is simply stupid. In Lisp and Smalltalk, operators are just ordinary functions and the lack of precedence makes everything simpler across the board.
