My side-project only had ~500 email subscribers, no MRR, but pretty good domain authority because it marketed itself. And still it got acquired only after 3 months!

for how much?

I sold my tiny project on microacquire marketplace, last time I checked there were even more low priced projects there, indeed it's an awesome way to experience an "EXIT" on a smaller scale :)

Something feels off if I need an account to even see their listings. I cannot tell if they are legit, or just a landing page for someone trying to get rolling.

I also looked on indiemaker and flippa, but microacquire was the only one where you dont need to pay to list your project and talk to potential buyers.. big plus

not just an email, your linkedin profile is required too.

For relatively "small" amount of money, I totally agree. However, from my experience selling a tiny project [1], buyers were reluctant to transfer in advance even sums that are below $10K. Therefore we also used Escrow.com..

Hey, Thanks for the comment, I attached the table-of-contents [1] below, you can see there is no such chapter :)

I agree, I also despise books that claim to take you from 0 to 100 in no time and/or teach you how to make lots of money.

In the description I clearly state that I'm sharing my personal story, which consists of practical advice, I don't make any promises. Even the book title doesn't promise anything, or says "How to..", but rather encourages you to start a side-project / side-hustle.

The goal of this book was to share my experience of building, running and selling a small side-project. So far I got good reviews and people whom I asked for feedback have clearly said that they enjoyed my book and would recommend :)

[1] Table-of-contents:

Hey all,

I wrote a short and to-the-point book about my "adventure" of finding an interesting idea for a side-project (hence the name of the book), building upon this idea, marketing the project (while learning marketing) and eventually selling it to another entrepreneur (as a first "acquisition" experience).

The book entails interesting bits of information as I you read along this journey that took me 3 months from ideation to acquisiton.

I would love to hear your feedback about it! :)

You can find the book on Gumroad and on Amazon: 1) gum.co/side-project 2) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08DN58X4X

For anyone curious, here is the eBook https://gum.co/side-project

Thanks!

I've decided to sell since I wanted to work on other projects but didn't have enough time to invest in all of them. It's the first side-project I've sold.

I will be releasing my ebook (https://gum.co/side-project) at the end of this month sharing my experiences of building and selling this side-project along with actionable advice.
