I host my own email with my custom fronend.

I use LLM to summarize the emails I receive. Now instead of a full page full of graphics and shit, I get one-liners like "$100 charge on your Costco card at X on 1/1/2026 1:35pm"

Also when I click "spam" on a sender, a domain, or an intermediate and the message goes to spam from then on. Not like gmail who I have to click "unsubscribe" and "spam" 100 times and still the email finds it's way to my inbox.

Reading these messages is getting me discussed. Is there any fund/index fund that is not breaking the rules to allow easier pump and dump from big players?

I don't know what's going on lately but Opus is extremely lazy for me...

It always wants to add hacks instead of fixing things properly, it doesn't like large works, it literally told me that a piece of work was something it would take 8 hours, and it didn't want to do it on a Friday night.

I feel I keep having to fight the model to get it to work. Not sure if it's something in my prompts...

Can we add the AI voice over videos as well please?

DuckDuckGo have to change their brand name if they want non-technical people to take them seriously

This has been my issue with DuckDuckGo from the start... it needs to be something a little more catchy and that rolls off the tongue. Saying "I'll DuckDuckGo it" feels so clunky. As small of a gripe as it sounds like, it really does matter.

But none of Google's alternative sound any better.

I'll bing it.

I'll brave it.

I'll ecosia it.

I'll kagi it.

I'll startpage it.

I'll yandex it.

Okay "I'll brave it" does sound fine, especially in our brave new world, but it's still ambiguous when speaking it.

Duck it isn't bad. My order for best private search engine goes brave>Kagi>Duckduckgo=startpage

Kagi's -> 'fetch it' (dog mascot play)

No need to turn a brand into a verb for this.

You look it up.

Yeah, despite using Google still. I just say "Search".

"Let me just search that up for you"

Both work perfectly fine.

I'm not saying that it necessarily needs to be a word that's easily turned into a verb, but it certainly doesn't need to be quite such a mouthful

I still use google as a verb even though I use Kagi.

Duck it.

Mind the F being dangerously close to the D on most keyboards here :-)

Don’t listen to this op, you don’t need to change your race.

If I was you I’d choose to be a multi-billionaire instead and keep my race.

I am probably in the minority on HN here, but I’ve mostly made peace with the tradeoffs around LLMs. The benefits I get from them are significant enough that I’m willing to accept some of the downsides.

But to be honest I was never especially invested in online social interaction to begin with. For years, Reddit and HN were basically the only social platforms I used, and lately I’ve mostly stopped using Reddit as well.

I do think we were fortunate to experience the age of innocence of the internet, but in my view, that era was already fading before LLMs arrived by the mega corps. LLMS just finish it of.

And it’s not LLMs to blame. LLMs just enabled smaller player to defile the internet the way Google FB and the others have been doing for years

The irony is that Cisco engineers have a limit of 200K tokens per day for AI usage, because it is getting too expensive for Cisco...

Was the front end designed using Claude Design?

That's what you get when a company is not public and makes more money than the owner(s) can spend.

*Owner must be a decent human being
