Saw this show connections on Stremio, sounded interesting and put it on. This scene caught my attention ;p

Ya, before I was using a mix of nano and seedream. It was not bad, but I find the control with gpt image is very good!

Making screenshots has always been my least favorite part of an app. I'd spend hours fiddling in Figma and nothing would ever be quite how I wanted.

I've been trying every model since AI image gen came out to see if they could do them. Nothing was consistently good enough.

With gpt image 2, it's finally consistent enough to use to generate app store screenshots that look incredible (imo), hallelujah!

It's pretty cheap too, about 20 cents a screenshot. And i've been impressed with the quality!

If you use it please PR your examples if they turned out good, or leave a issue if the result wasn't very good - i'm still tweaking the prompts

If we could get a 13 mini sized phone with some better battery that would be great

I used to love nvALT. Want to check out https://hashy.ink. It's an open source markdown editor inspired by nvALT. Still rough around the edges, but it's coming together.

Lost me in the first sentence with the AI chat.

It's optional btw, it's bring your own key. I'm debating taking it out too as I find if I wanna use AI with it, I usually just open claude code in the folder in the terminal..

I'm working on a open source markdown editor inspired by nvALT. Would love feedback! https://hashy.ink

Doesn't open for me.

Works now. Downloaded the app!

why no linux version ?

Ya I made it with swift using ST Text View. Would love a Linux version as I just bought a Linux to use on the side. So we will see heh

It’s built with SwiftUI, which is not really cross-platform.

I really want to like obsidian but it’s just unusable (for me)

So I built my own thats a bit more lightweight. Think nvalt meets markdown. thats native, iOS and Mac with I cloud sync, and open source.

Check it out if it sounds interesting!

iOS app is still in review ;(

https://hashy.ink/

> a bit more lightweight

I don't want to be overly negative, but no plugins are mandatory, there's no "47 step setup guide" unless you want to heavily customize.

And as far as I can tell you mostly replaced some of the weight with AI?

AI "Search Notes", "Organize Notes", "List and filter, tags", "Clean up notes"

I guess I just see this as weight in a different area? You've pushed a lot of the weight and plugins to cloud-based AI?

I am, on principle, very much a fan of "native app, not another Electron view".

It’s a BYOK so the ai is optional. (And if you really don’t want it it’s a package in the open source app that can easily be pulled out) Since it’s markdown and on filesystem you can just edit your notes with Claude code if you want similar to obsidian.

By lightweight I mean it’s not a super heavy and bloated electron app on desktop and a slow and janky capacitor app on mobile that takes 10 seconds to launch and that the project can be greppable in a day to build on

I appreciate the feedback - being a bit more modularized like this makes more sense!

And yeah, if you're referring to the whole Electron stuff there, I entirely agree!

It’s so dumb. It literally creates the problem just so it can solve it (same as cigarettes). People say they need coffee for energy. If you stopped drinking coffee you would have steady energy throughout the entire day !!

This isn't strictly true. Multiple studies have shown that coffee reliably acts to increase alertness and can often boost mood.

Alertness isn't the same thing as energy, which is why people who drink a lot of coffee often feel tired but "wired". The brain is alert but energy is low. Abstaining from coffee can "reset" the nervous system to an extent, but alertness and energy is largely determined by insulin levs in the body. So figuring out what works for you with diet is a much better way of getting more stable energy through the day, regardless of caffeine intake.

Can confirm. Currently in week 3 of caffeine detox. The first week is brutal but by now I am waking up with energy even if I don't get a full 8hrs of sleep.

What was your consumption before like?

The code for this is about 300 line tsx file (if you remove the comments) : https://github.com/StreamUI/hyperstar/blob/master/examples/g...

I've been playing around with making a little framework for building these server driven UIs in a way with a syntax more like SPAs. I originally was using datastar behind the scenes, but decided to just write my own version of it, much easier to work with.

https://github.com/StreamUI/hyperstar

Hey I read over hyperstar and enjoy the whole minimal interface for syncing server state. Please do continue working on this and announce when it graduates from beta phase :)

Oh, missed this message! Thanks a lot :)
