8GB RAM was not a lot in 2015. It was similar to 16gb today in terms of usability.

When I bought a MBA in 2014, 4GB was considered borderline insufficient, even for a casual user.


For someone who wants a secondary (travel) laptop I don't like how needlessly thick and heavy this is.
